Handcrafted Excellence
Each EcoTouch speaker is a unique masterpiece, hand-carved from sustainably sourced Bolivian hardwoods and finished with artisan precision.
Selecting the wood
Every piece of wood is carefully selected for structural integrity, color, and grain pattern. Cracks and knots are removed, and only the healthiest cuts are assigned to models that suit their size and characteristics.
We choose wood not just for its beauty, but also for its acoustic potential—hardness, density, and grain all influence the speaker’s sound profile.
No two EcoTouch speakers are alike.
Bolivian Rosewood
Dark and dramatic, Bolivian Rosewood features intense grain patterns that speak for themselves.
Because of its bold appearance, we use this wood for models that don’t require laser engraving—it’s best to let the natural beauty shine.
Carving an EcoTouch
The carving process includes several stages:
- Interior carving comes first, followed by meticulous sanding.
- The exterior details are shaped using a variety of hand tools.
- Edges and corners are rounded to different specifications depending on the model.
- The internal phone slot is beveled for a snug, secure fit.
Design Evolution
Many design iterations were created—each balancing sound quality, aesthetic appeal, and compact form—to arrive at the final EcoTouch shape.
Finishing an EcoTouch
After laser engraving (if used), all surfaces—including edges and curves—are finely sanded.
- Canarywood models are sanded up to 400 grit
- Rosewood models are sanded up to 1200 grit for an ultra-smooth finish
We then apply multiple coats of 100% pure tung oil, allowing proper drying time between applications.
Our Oil Finish
We never use synthetic varnish.
Instead, we finish every speaker with pure Tung oil, which enhances the wood’s natural grain without altering its color.
The result is a finish that feels organic, looks rich, and lasts.
